Onvolt is a habit tracker and quit counter, made by Thomas Pearson in the United Kingdom. This page says what the app stores about you, why, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted. The data controller is Thomas Pearson, contactable at tommycage1127+applereview@gmail.com.

What Onvolt stores

WhatWhere it livesWhy
Your email address, and whether you signed in with Apple, Google or emailOur database (Supabase, London)To create your account and let you sign back in. If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email, we only ever see Apple's relay address.
The names of your counters and habits, the times you started a counter, the days you ticked a habit, and the times you logged a slipOur database (Supabase, London)This is the app. It's how your counters and streaks survive a new phone.
The first name you type in during setupYour phone onlyTo greet you. It never leaves the device.
The name on your Apple or Google account, if you sign in that wayOur database (Supabase, London)Apple and Google send it with the sign-in. We only use it to greet you, and Sign in with Apple lets you change or hide it.
Reminder timesYour phone onlyReminders are scheduled on your phone. No server sends them.
Subscription statusApple, and SuperwallTo know whether you have paid. Apple takes the payment. We never see your card.
App usage events (for example "onboarding finished", "paywall shown") tied to a random account ID, never your emailPostHog (EU)To see which screens work and which lose people.
Crash reports tied to the same random ID, with personal data switched offSentryTo find and fix crashes.

Why we're allowed to

DataLegal basis
Your account, counters, habits, ticks and slipsNeeded to provide the app you signed up for
Counter and habit names that reveal something about your healthYour explicit consent (see below)
Usage events and crash reportsOur legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it. You can object by emailing us.
PaymentsApple processes these under its own terms

Health information

A counter called "drinking" or "smoking" says something about your health. The law treats that as special category data, so Onvolt only stores it with your explicit consent, which you give when you create your account. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your account.

Who else sees it

Only the services listed above, and only to run the parts of the app they run: Supabase (database and sign-in), Apple and Google (sign-in, if you choose them), Apple (payments), Superwall (subscription status and the paywall), PostHog (usage events) and Sentry (crash reports). Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, it goes under the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US Data Bridge.

Each of these services is bound by its own terms to protect your data with the same or equal protection as this policy, and to use it only to run its part of Onvolt.

We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Usage events and crash reports expire on their providers' own schedules, and never carry your email or your counter names.

Deleting everything

Settings → Delete account removes your account and every counter, habit, tick and slip attached to it, straight away. Deleting the app from your phone also removes your name and reminders, which were only ever on the phone.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, take it with you in a portable format, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email tommycage1127+applereview@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

What you have to give us

You need an email address, or an Apple or Google sign-in, to make an account. Without one Onvolt can't save your counters and habits, so the app won't work. Everything else you type in is up to you.

Onvolt makes no automated decisions about you, and doesn't profile you.

Age

Onvolt is for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, because counters are often about alcohol, nicotine and drugs.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that affects what we store gets shown in the app before it takes effect.
